Zephyr “Galactic Cloudlets”
Ingredients
Natural food colorings (1–2 drops each):
Instructions
Zephyr Base:
Mix the apple purée with the egg white and whip until light and airy.
Combine the water with agar-agar and heat gently.
Add the sugar and cook the syrup for 3–4 minutes until it thickens.
Pour the hot syrup into the purée in a thin stream, continuing to whip.
Add the lemon juice.
Forming the “Cloudlets”:
Prepare a piping bag with thin stripes of natural food colorings.
Pipe the zephyr into small cloud or swirl shapes.
Allow to dry for 4–6 hours.
Serving:
Serve on a dessert plate or as a sweet surprise for kids and adults. The finished zephyrs have a soft center and beautiful marbled cosmic swirls.
Note
Before transferring the mixture into the piping bag, paint 3–4 thin stripes of food coloring inside the bag using a brush or toothpick.
Do not mix the colors together!
When you fill the bag with the zephyr mixture and pipe it out, the colors will stretch into thin ribbons, creating a cosmic swirl effect.
Zephyr “Galactic Cloudlets”: a cosmic dessert that captivates at first sight
The “Galactic Cloudlets” marshmallow is a new viral trend among homemade desserts, blending the delicate texture of classic zephyr with the striking look of cosmic patterns. This treat emerged from the rising popularity of all things “galaxy” — drinks, cakes, mousses, and glazes. But this marshmallow became a true discovery because it lets you create real culinary art right in your kitchen without complicated techniques.
People love this recipe for its simplicity, brightness, and incredible photogenic charm. Each cloudlet has a unique pattern resembling nebulae and starbursts. With gentle shades of blue, purple, and blueberry tones, the dessert looks as if it was crafted somewhere deep in space. Combined with a light berry aroma, the marshmallow becomes a perfect blend of aesthetics and flavor that’s hard to resist.
The clever twist of the recipe is the way the colors are combined. After preparing the main mixture, it’s divided into several parts and tinted in different “cosmic” shades. Then the colors are carefully layered together so they don’t mix completely. When piped onto parchment, the natural swirls create depth and dimension. You get a beautifully marbled pattern with almost no effort — which makes this dessert ideal even for beginners.
“Galactic Cloudlets” have exploded in popularity on social media, especially Pinterest and Instagram, where users share their vibrant results. This dessert is perfect for celebrations, kids’ parties, photo shoots, and as a unique edible gift. The recipe is also easy to customize: change the colors, add new flavorings, or create seasonal variations like winter or spring editions.
Despite its stunning appearance, this marshmallow stays light and natural. It’s not overly sweet, has a soft airy texture, and works well for anyone who prefers lighter desserts.
“Galactic Cloudlets” prove that beauty and flavor can exist in one tiny treat. One glance — and you’ll want to create these cosmic miniatures at home. They’re not just dessert, but a little piece of inspiration on a plate.
